Private Travel Consultancy
What a luxury travel advisor actually does.
I'm Beverly Schulte, a luxury travel advisor based in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, working with clients across the country. My job is the part a booking site can't do, knowing which room, which guide, which table, and which transfer company shows up. I design the trip, I book it, and then I stay on it until you're home.
The trips I've planned and the reviews those clients left say more about the work than this page can.
Booking vs. planning
The difference between booking and planning.
There's a version of travel where you book the flight, find the hotel, read the reviews, and hope. That version works, most trips come out fine.
Then there's the version where someone who knows the property, knows the manager, and knows which table at that restaurant actually matters builds the whole thing before you pack a bag. That's the version I build. Most of my clients could plan a trip themselves. They've decided their time is better spent elsewhere, and that the difference between a fine trip and the right trip is worth more than the hours it would cost them.
Handled for you
What comes off your plate.
Flights. Routing that makes sense, seats that don't face the lavatory, and upgrade positioning through channels you don't have an account with.
Rooms. Vetted by me or by advisors I trust. Not the hotel the algorithm likes. The specific room, in the specific property, that fits the way you travel.
The ground game. Transfers, guides, private access, dinner reservations, and the timing that holds it all together. The pieces that decide whether a trip runs or frays.
When it breaks. A cancelled flight at 2 a.m. is my phone call, not yours. That's the part you don't think about until you need it, and it's the part you're actually paying for.
A relationship business
A private consultancy, not a booking engine.
"Travel agent" understates it. I take on a limited number of clients each year, and I answer my own phone. If you call from the road, you get me.
Being in Sioux Falls keeps my overhead low and my calendar human. My clients are mostly elsewhere, but none of the planning happens over a ticketing queue either way.
Built for you
What custom travel actually means.
Custom means built for you, not adapted from a template. I start every engagement by asking how you travel, what you loved, and what you'd rather never repeat. The itinerary comes out of that conversation, not out of a catalog. If a place isn't right for you, I'll say so, even when it would be an easy sale.
The client
Who I work with.
People who've reached the point where time matters more than the hours it would take to plan a trip properly. They care about the details being right, and they'd rather hand the complicated parts to someone they trust than navigate them alone. If that sounds like you, the conversation starts with twenty minutes and no charge.
